Hi!

I have a very woolly bear, and I KNOW there is a pony somewhere under there!

Any tips on how to clip through all that hair? Do you use scissors first? Any clipper brand recommendations?

Thanks!

My best,

Melissa

Melissa...please don't use scissors!!!! You might cut your horse!!!!! Most brands of clippers can cut through the heavy hair from winter growth....but it all takes a long time.....it is much easier if you bathe them first and let them dry completely, but that is not always possible......so just be patient while you are clipping and clip against the grain.....it sounds like your first time to do this....good luck!!

Thanks!

I have clipped big horses (short arab coats) but frankly, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed at the thought of clipping her!

Wondering if sheep shearing clippers might work safely?
