Anyone in the Chicago area?

Right after the World Show I have to come home only to leave again and go to a business meeting in Chicago. I'll be there Oct. 12-14. On Sunday the 14th, it looks like I'm going to have a long time before I leave. My meeting's suppose to be over around noon, and I'm sure I have to check out of the hotel by 11am or something, but the flight doesn't leave til 8 or after, so even if I was at the airport by 6 (2hrs early as they say) I'd still have about 5-6 hours to do nothing and sitting in the airport doesn't sound like much fun. I'm not adventurous enough to go all over Chicago by myself.

I don't remember right now what hotel I'll be at, but I know that its suppose to be near the O'Hare airport.

we live in west central illinois but i've spent lots of weekends in chicago. you may have enough time to grab a cab and go to the museums. the field museum of natural history and the shedd aquarium are within walking distance of each other right on the lakeshore and you could kill a couple of hours at each place. actually, i could spend an entire day at the shedd!! they have a brand new beluga whale baby, just born a few weeks ago.

the museum is great. the 2 lions from the movie "the ghost and the darkness" are there.

"sue", the T-Rex dinosaur is there. i think that's her permanent home, if i'm not mistaken. she is awesome to see!!

i have a friend who is coming to visit this fall from wyoming. we plan to take the train up and spend a day in chicago. i can't wait, it's been a long time since i've been there.

keep in mind, you will have to check into the airport a couple of hours before flight time and going through security at o'hare can take some extra time.
