Oh my goodness--Three G farm in Ames Iowa is the place to be! www.threegfarms.com They are having ADT's this winter, they have the Skunk River HDT in June, but my favorite is the 3 day camp in the spring with Robin Groves as the clinician. There are events in WI, NE, IA through the summer. Drive On!!

Does Three G have a VSE division?

I go to school is Ames (Iowa State) so Three G is really close (I was at one point talking with Mary about working for board there...but I don't have a car down here)

Yes, they certainly do! ThreeG is one of the most mini-friendly sites I have listed on CDE4VSE.com.

Their CDE clinic looks like alot of fun.....I wonder if my Mom and Dad would be willing to half clip my gelding and bring him down.

How exactly do you attach breeching if you cart doesn't have the little "slots"? Is there a peice I can buy?

The easiest and safest thing to do is simply buy a set of footman's loops (the little slots) and install them on your cart. They are $2.50 each most places and all you have to do is pre-drill the holes at the right distance for the holdback straps then screw them in on the underside of the shaft. Bingo!

If you can't do that for whatever reason I've used those trace carrier loops on the show cart to give the breeching at least something of an anchor point, but that isn't very safe as they would break under strain. Go for the real footman's loops!

When I showed up for our first dressage lesson many moons ago (myself and 3 kids--4 mini + cart combos), Earl had our carts flipped over and footmans loops on faster than you could say VSE Drive On!!

The camp was so much fun I did it for 3 years.

I highly recommend the Indiana CDE in Edinburgh (just south of Indianapolis) on Labor Day weekend. Very VSE friendly! This year was my first attempt at CDE, and I had a blast! Here's the link for the sponsoring club : http://iwwi.org/ Also, there is a CDE near Madison, WI in July. I was told they had a VSE division last year, but I did not find out about it until after the event. I am going to inquire about it this year. Here is the link: http://www.hickoryknoll.net/HK%20CDE.html Neither site is yet updated for 2008, but both have contacts listed. I also recommend checking the ADS site:http://americandrivingsociety.org/calendar.asp

CKMINI,

ThreeG Farms in Ames, IA, as others have mentioned is wonderful for VSE's! Earl and Mary are both tops in my book:) I did the camp last year, and had a ton of fun. If you bring help with you, they should be forewarned...they will be put to work, lol, but since I see my folks so seldom, it was kind of a "halfway" meeting place for us, so we all had a great time. Also did the HDT in June, which had a vse only hazard that was TIGHT. If it is at all doable in my schedule..and the weather cooperates, would LOVE to do their ADT's!

Their website lists the schedule for lessons, clinics, and of course all competitions.

There's also a good VSE friendly CDE in Lincoln, NE. Generally first weekend in June. Course is fairly level, so good introductory type facility. Had a conflict last year, but have it on my list if possible.

Longview Lake CDE is held just east, and a little south of Kansas City, MO in September. Beautiful location, and plenty of VSE participants..nice ones, of course:)

WI has one too, and VSE's are welcome. The name escapes me at the moment, but it's another one I have on my list "to do" this coming year.
