I have a friend that is bringing her horse trailer with living quarters to the show....what are the rules for camping? Is it first come first served? Are the facilities decent? I contacted the show manager but no response...I'm sure she's slammed....was hoping for some advice from those who normally stay in the trailers. :bgrin

Heather,

I just looked in the premium for the World Show. It says that there are 94 spaces with full water and electrical hookups and they are available on a "first-come first served" basis (no phone reservations). The daily hookup fee is $15. Hope this helps. Aubrey

They're not bad. Basically white lines on an asphault parking lot with hook ups. No trees, jungle jims or swing sets. They are at the opposite end of the complex past all he cattle barns so'if you don't have a golf cart, rent one.

You won't have a problem getting one.

Heather,

I stayed on the grounds one year, and will add that the shower facilities are not bad. Plenty of them, in at least a couple of different buildings.

AH, but the trick is in finding the darn showers! We had a terrible time finding where they were hidden, and let me tell you, I still can't give good directions to them, I just escort folks there the first time.

One thing about the camping, if you don't have a potty in the trailer, plan ahead! When we camped there we brought our Yamaha scooters and did they ever come in handy. My only problem was I always had to 'go' in the middle of the night so that involved putting on some sort of clothing, creep out of the trailer, wipe the dew off the seat and then drive like crazy to get to the closest potty! Then, back to the trailer and now, wide awake, creep back in and try to go back to sleep.

I have to say, I do like just stumbling out of bed, into the potty and back in our nice motel, especially since I am still using a cane and very slow moving when I first get up. No, peeing in the trailer for me was never an option, I have terrible aim! :new_shocked:

One thing too, if you are up at sunrise, be sure to take the time to look at the mural on the side of the Cowgirls Hall of Fame, it is just gorgeous in that pink early light.
