OK, here is another one...I am looking at a yearling colt that is currently not AMHR registered. His sire is, dam is not. So in order to have the colt registered, I am thinking I would have 2 options...

1 - Register the colt as a hardship from AMHA at $400

OR

2 - Register the dam of the colt as a hardship from AMHA at $200(the owner of mare would do this) and then get colt in that way.

Is this possible, since he is a yearling? If it is possible, what fees and requirements would there be to have it done?

Thank you!

Yes if the mare is hardshipped in, then you can register any of her offspring that are eligible with two AMHR parents.

Sorry I will finish now, the fees for the colt would be the same as registering a foal from two AMHR parents as a yearling.

Thanks! I guess on the "plus" side, the mare would at least then be registered so all future offspring could be reg'd at regular fees. Thanks Karen!
