A Place to Escape Wisconsin Winter

My dad lives in Wisconsin and is climbing the walls with all the snow and cold they have had. They have already had 36" before the first day of winter.

He is thinking about escaping for a month or two in either Southern Texas (his first choice) or Central Florida? Nothing too fancy/expensive. He is 65 so he would qualify for one of the 55+ places.

Anybody have any recommendations?
