Ok.. first off this isn't in relation to any real horses but an art project that I'm working on and I'd like for it be be a true possibility.

If baby looks like this

what are the colors and patterns that its dam could be??

Photo examples would be cool if you have them.

Thanks in advance!

I have a mother/daughter duo that look IDENTICAL to that! The sire to daughter is my black tobiano pinto (just has white stockings). Really, the mother to your foal could be almost anything---not any of the double dilutes...probably not appaloosa, although it could be possible. If you had both the dam AND the sire, then you'd have to really consider patterns, colors and such.

Well, our foal Max is about that color (less white on him) with one blue eye and his dam is GRAY, just so you consider that possibility! Genetically she is silver bay frame overo and Max's sire is a chestnut tobiano, so 2 more colors that mom could be.
