My mini seems to have really soft frogs in all her hooves. She is kept on a decent pasture that isn't like a swamp land or anything and we have not had much to speak of for rain. Even when it rains her pasture doesn't get mucky. Is this normal for a young horse or does she have bad feet? I know pictures would help but sorry I don't have any. I might try to get some soon though.

A nice supple, rubbery, soft frog is a good thing

Rubbery yes but soft? NO! Are they so soft you can scrape chunks off with your hoofpick?

I had this problem with frogs so soft that i could rip pieces off, but its been so long ago i cant remember what you do about them? LOL im no help....all i know is you want the frog rubbery, but not soft to where there are pieces falling off. You dont want them to hard either, and with the drought we are having, i have a daily battle with hard hooves, not soft.
