10 day old foal officially "out of danger"

He was a pretty sick little fella and a has a rough first 24 hours of life but now the vet feels we are out of the woods with this little guy.

He has no name yet...just "little boy". He appears to be buckskin with a blaze.

Mama is doing fine. The old girl is a trooper.

I am so proud of this little guy. He has really been through alot in his first days but he is fine and now we need to find a better name than " baby boy ".

He is a BEAUTIFUL foal!!! I'm happy he is doing better now. We had a rough start filly last year, but she did good, too (a real pistol!). I hope your guy will do just like her and you'll look at him soon and have a hard time remembering how fragile he was to begin with

Thanks so much everyone.

We were pretty scared about this guy. We can rest now.

For a week I could not sleep. I kept checking on him. Is he sleeping, is he better? Is he eating?...many of you know what I am saying.

When the vet gave the ok yesterday, I finally relaxed and started to enjoy having him here.

He is a little terror now. Getting chubby and sassy.
