If you know of any shows within two-three hours of Cincinnati, please let me know. AMHR only. I have found some in Wilmington, Liberty, Lexington I think. I will be doing all the county fairs that have mini classes, but would love to get my feet wet at a sanctioned show this year:) Also, does...

at local shows around me, I've observed traces being hooked with no slack...from pics from world shows, both AMHA and AMHR I see loose traces and some that appear to go outside the shaft and back inside again before hooking to the cart. Which is the correct placement? Should the horse be...

    What can I do differently?

This is my four yr old 34" gelding. I took him to our third show yesterday and he placed horribly...3 out of 4 in multicolor and 5 out of 5 for miniature 4 and over. The minis that placed above us were markedly heavier, not groomed as nice and some were bigger or smaller...is there anything I...

Any experience with Mini Express carts?

I can't find much info about them, specifically their economy show cart and show cart. Other than the fact that they are open wheeled, what's your opinion on them being used for county fair, local open shows and the occasional rated amha show for classic pleasure driving. I have a buckskin pinto...

Need help with baiting in halter class...

Ok, so we've shown at our second show now, and although my boy wins most of his classes, he's just not standing up and showing halter like I would like...I grew up showing arabs, where we would train them off the whip, to stand up, lean back a bit, then up and into a nice stretched topline...

    versatility class question

My next show, a local county fair, offers a "versatility class" that consists of halter, halter obstacle and hunter. Since I cannot run for the hunter portion due to lumbar fusion, is it allowable for my daughter to show in just that portion? I know in "combo" classes with like road horses, one...
