    Big horse driving disaster

Scary! I read on another forum that the woman still sitting in the cart when her horse got hit had just had both of her knees replaced and could not get out of her cart by herself -- they had to drag her to safety after she fell out.

    DONE with this horrible camera!!

I have two cameras, a Canon Powershot A520 that I've had nothing but problems with and generally poor photo quality, and a Sony DSC-H2 (discontinued now so you could probably find it cheap, or the rest of the H series is good too) that I LOVE. I love taking pictures and I've probably taken well...

AMHA is CLosing Their Books!! As well as a new Height rule change!!

Why not change to the highest point of the withers and change the maximum height along with it? If you measure at the withers and change the max height to "36 inches," it's not like the horse's height is actually changing. The only reason I can think of for not doing this is to continue the...

So, who decided it'd be neat to show Mini halter horses like dogs?

It's not even modeled after dogs -- dogs are not required to be "on" for an entire class, especially a large one. When the judge is doing individual examinations, many exhibitors will play with their dogs to get them up and excited, or just relax in line until their turn approaches. I agree --...

Ok, I'm sure this is gonna ruffle feathers

Susanne, I loved your stories! I think they are supposed to go on the main forum -- how I understood it, the part about being "educational" was for picture posts?

Just some of my own thoughts and feelings

I don't think anyone means "big" as in "lots of foals." When I see someone say that, I take it to mean that no matter how great a breeder you are, no matter the quality of mare and stallion, there WILL be pet quality, and so no need to breed and badly conformed stallion to a worse mare FOR pet...

Just some of my own thoughts and feelings

I agree, Lisa, there's not nearly as much for miniatures as there is for big horses. I'll risk being wrong by saying halter is probably the most popular "discipline" for miniatures, and halter was started to evaluate breeding stock (except in the case of geldings). I don't know what needs to...

    favorite Dog Breed

I have a couple :bgrin First, Dobermans! I've always had at least one growing up, and we have threeee now. We also occasionally foster/rescue dobes, and two of ours are pound rescues. (The one that isn't is 11 years old now, the other two are ages 7 and 2). "My" breeds are standard...

An idea to avoid hurt feelings....

: I joined in excitement after getting my first miniature, but didn't do much looking OR posting until later '06, as I'm not really a forum person. Even so, I still think that's recent compared to the amount of time others have been around ;)

An idea to avoid hurt feelings....

I came here just recently and have learned a ton : Edit: and I agree. If some people wouldn't have spoken up, technically off topic, on a lot of threads i've seen, I wouldn't have learned half as much as I have...
