2006 Perseid Shower Summary
This is such a fun activity...my dad used to take us out to watch them and we would lie on the ground and look up for hours, talking and joking around and counting falling stars (meteors).
So we make sure to spend as many nights as we can looking up, even if it's just for an hour or so.
Kids really dig it!
It's a very romantic pastime, too....grab a sweetheart and a blanket and go make some wishes!!!
We've seen some spectacular fireballs during this shower (nothing like the Leonids of was it 2001/2002?), and sometimes the different colors are fun, too. Make sure to get as far away from light pollution as you can (such as country locales being pretty good, so I figure most of us have a leg up).
Happy skywatching!
