Tobianos With Paw Prints

Here are some of mine to check out.LOL If you want more I can come up with more paw printed

mares.

The top 3 pictures all look like toveros, and the bottom one looks like a tobiano-sabino. The first one is stunning!

It was exactly what I was looking for, thank you Nancy! I just wanted to see any horse with pawprints to see if maybe I could find one that might not have sabino in there as well. I will keep searching though!

Glad to help, I will take a look at more of my mares and if I see one with paw prints, that might not be sabino, I will send you a picture to check out.

as the question was about homzygous tobianos are we to assume that all horses posted have two tobi parents and at least have the possibility of being homzygous ? if not that that would be confusing the matter

That was going to be my question if I found one, but so far have not. Nancy already let me know that some were homozygous and some were not.

Rowdy has been tested and is positive for homozygous for Tobiano

The last foal crop we had out of him was the best ever, all black and white fillies, and one black and white pintaloosa filly with blue eyes, here is her pic

This is a mare that I used to own. She is homozygous for tobiano.

Just thought I'd toss my tobys on here, not sure if they're what you want/want to compare patterns with

First is Max, he does have a couple "paw prints"/"ink spots", and I do believe him to be tobiano/splash/sabino, and possibly homozygous for pinto (both sire/dam are pintos). He is also LWO negative.

Then we have Tango, Max's dam. She doesn't have any paw prints/ink spots, she is definitely tobiano/splash, and I do believe her to be sabino, she is LWO neg.

and then there's Doc, sire to Max above. The only "paw print" (I assume that's what it is) is the single spot in this photo. He of course is tobiano, I think he is also sabino and/or splash, not sure.. He does have some "feathery" areas, will splash do that or is that just sabino?

Now here's an interesting one. Dam is SOLID black/bay (her sire is a pinto, her dam is registered appy.. my mare I had researched/tested by the gals at the Appaloosa Project, and she does not carry any Lp genes, therefore will NOT produce an appy foal (colored OR characteristics), makes me wonder if her dam is actually an appy or misregistered). His sire is Doc above.. So he is tobiano/splash/sabino, or maybe tobiano/splash or maybe tobiano/sabino?? lol

Of course his full sibling this year is Doc's first filly and jet solid black!

Then there's Sweet Tart, half sibling to the bay pinto colt in the last post. They share the same dam, and this mare is sired by a black pinto as well. She also has a full sibling sister that looks identical to her except she has a bay spot on her opposite side as well.. This mare has had two foals, both solid bays by a solid black stallion. This gal I do believe is tobiano/splash/sabino, she has a roany spot coming up on her forehead (right below her ear in this pic) that I believe is sabino.

One of my newest additions.. I believe she's tobiano/sabino, and either splash and/or LWO positive.. She doesn't have blue eyes, but she does have that funky lip white that makes me suspect one or the other.. I haven't tested her yet as Doc is LWO negative.
