Buy Glow sticks. They will give about 9 hrs. of light and are safe. Fill Zip Loc Bags not quite full, with water, and put as many as you can in your freezer. They will help keep things cold when elec. goes out and you will also have water to drink when they thaw. Have canned foods (and a manual can opener) that are good for a complete meal (Beenie Weenies ???).

For the horses in the barn I've found that a radio helps storm noise seem less scarey. At night use a glow stick for a little light. They seem to like that during stressful situations.

Any other tips?

I saw someone post to spray paint your phone number on your horse, in case fences go down and they get out, the owner can be located.
