A friend told me this horse was for sale. Thought it was a cremello. Went to look at him. He's not a cremello. Is solid white with blue eyes. Has a dime sized spot of solid black hair with black skin in forelock. Is he a pinto, if so pattern. No papers so don't know have any background info. What would I need to test him for? Thank you for any help.

He would likely be a maximum expression frame or a maximum expression splashed white. You can test for LWO(frame) for $25 so you would know that one for sure, but no test for splash.

A double dose of sabino can really max out the white too. There is now a test for one sabino gene, called sabino1. He quite possibly has a combination of patters. If you are really curious, you could have him tested for tobiano, frame, and sabino1.

We had a filly born here much like what you are describing, she was a tovero, both tobiano and overo patterns makes for a lot of white

Thank you very much for the info. He's a very pretty 31" 12 year old stallion. Sure wish I had some background info on him, but really like him. I will get him tested. Will post results when i get them.
