I have a mare that I love, she is a poppet to show but I have one problem....

When we trot up she holds her head up and ears flat back. Any ideas??

Have you tried something small you can hold in your hand that makes an interesting noise to see if that helps? Something to catch her attention and perk her ears up?

Are you dragging her? I would bet something about trotting at the show itself (ie chain under chin, cable halter, you running too fast) is causing her to be a grump about it

She trots up very well. Stays exactly where she should be and trots very active. Lead pretty much hangs. You could hold her with your little finger.

Have tried a chain and a bar although will try a little biothane strap as didn't think about it maybe being the metal. X
