Hey y'all! I live in the bipolar weather state of Virginia where at the moment we have 6 inches of snow (again)! I am dying to clip my munchkins and next week it will be above 40 all week, being 60 on Wednesday! Would it be an OK idea if I clipped next week with the good weather, let them get use to their haircut before possible cold weather hits again? They do have heavy blankets

I would NOT do this.March weather can be VERY cold and iffy.Even in 60 degree weather horses take some getting used to the colder temps. When you take that hair off you are taking away natural protection. If you are doing it for an early show you will need blankets hoods and even leg wraps.Think of the comfort of the horse-not your own wishes. This is just my opinion.I have seen first hand the bad consequences of too early clipping.

I agree with the above advice. Its too early for naked ponies right now.
