What is the resting respertory rate for minis? All of my horse books are directed more toward the big guys and say that they should be between 8 and 14 breaths per miniute. Is it the same for minis? I know with dogs the smaller breeds will have a higher heart and respertory rate then larger breeds, does the same hold true for horses?

Thanks one again to all you experienced people helping out the newbies!

Just bumbing this. I can't seem to find the answer by doing a google search.

I really need to know so I can tell if my mini is improving her breathing or not on this medication we are starting her on.

aha, found a website that talks about min's and says that it should be the same for mini's, between 8 and 16 breaths.
