This is my first time foaling out a mini and my first time using milk test strips. I got the Foal Time ones where you do not need to mix milk with water.

My question is: Does the mares PH ALWAYS drop or is it possible for her to foal when her PH is still high ?

I've never used the milk test you mentioned....but with the ones we've used the PH has always dropped.

The only two possibilities that I can think of for the PH to not drop when the mare has foaled is:

1. The test wasn't done correctly.

2. Something is wrong with the mare's milk/colostrum.

I am also using the quick Foal Time strips, and yesterday I FINALLY was able to get enough from Missy's udder to also try the Mother Nature strips just in case. They both tested the same, she was due May 11th, and still hangin' on to baby. She most likely caught the next cycle. When, is anyone's guess at this point, so don't worry. I still watch the camera, and her ever growing belly if that is possible!
