How accurate would you say these tests are? Confirm oestrone sulphate test and PMSG test (don't know what that stands for)? Both tests were done at 7 months gestation. Thanks!

Ok, just found a site that tells all about the tests. Just took a bit of searching. A little silly to answer my own question, but in case anyone else was wondering...it says that the PMSG is a good indication of pregnancy, but is prone to false positives. The oestrone sulphate test is very accurate and tests for the presence of a live foal.

I think that the progesterone test would be more accurate. Estrogen sulfate measures the estrogen levels in the mare which can increase durring lutylizing (follicle) stage as well as a pregnancy and the test can show a barely positive.... the progesterone is put out by the placenta so I would think that one is more accurate. Not 100% sure because Im not a vet.
