Ah! Both foods I feed got great grades on that list!

Like many others, I don't feed anything I can buy at the grocery store. I have a dog with allergies and I can tell within a day whether or not the food is quality. Even the supposed "lamb and rice" stuff from the grocery store will turn him into a raw bloody mess of itchy hot spots. I don't know if it is the preservatives or what, but I won't feed them even to the dogs without allergies. I feed my dogs a mix of kibble and raw/home prepared foods (mostly because of little mister allergy boy) under my vet's guidance. No offense to those who really love Purina dog foods, but I wouldn't feed that to my dog any more than I would eat it myself.

I feel that if I can find what is considered a SAFE dog food, I don't care what it cost!

The way I see it, my pets are my family and I want them to have the best.

Hmmm. I have to take the pups to the vet's on Sept 14th for their boosters and I will ask my vet what she feeds her dog? Sounds like a plan

Asking for a professional recommendation is great, but also do your own research and lots of it. Unless you're going to a specialist, veterinarians are not nutritionalists. Most vets spent very little time learning about the dietary needs of pets in vet school, and much of what they are taught is from the big spender corporations that produce the more popular brands of pet food. Like I said in my previous post, not all of those companies are producing the best products. It's definitely a buyer beware industry which is very sad considering the incredible impact what we feed our pets has on their overall health and wellbeing.
