Stealing away with the thread for a second... Dr. Taylor, I have been considering an oral speculum...where would I find one, and what is the price range? There are some "out there" but want to make sure I get a decent one.

I do not do Dentistry, frankly because I do not enjoy it, so please take my advice with a grain of salt.

This company has a good reputation. I would encourage a speculum and not a mouth gag.

My vet always sedates because he uses the rotary tool...but I don't like his speculum...the "click handle" part comes very-very close to my horses' eyes. I see there is a spreader bar type of thing made to replace the leather noseband...I wonder if that would hel;p...it states that is what it is used for.

I am pretty sure this is the one my hubby got for me on Ebay a few years ago.

It works great for minis. We just had to add some holes to make the strap fit better. But my vet is always glad I have this mini one for him to use.

Mine that I own dose this too and I hate it! I actually will be rigging up blinders on mine to protect their eyes!
