Need to change his bad diet to a good one.

Buster needs his diet changed. I am changing it very gradually so he has time to change. Right now he gets 12 oz. of oats. I do not wish to change the kind but the amount I need to change a bit. He also gets 5 flakes of hay per day. He is about 5 years old and he is a gelding. How much hay and how much oats should I give to him?

You need to weigh the hay- it seems like an awful lot to be giving, and I am a staunch advocate of ad lib hay- is there ever any left, or is he sharing this with someone else???
