Lost a foal....

My mini mare Cherry lost her foal on Friday. Wasn't sure if she was bred, but apparently she was.

Sorry about losing the baby. Is your mare doing ok? How did you notice she'd lost it?

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Cherry's foal. I hope that the mare is doing okay. We, too, lost a foal at six months gestation. It always breaks your heart to lose one.

She's still at my friend's place-we're still working on our barn. She's okay, my friend is a nurse, so she's in good hands. She found the fetus in the corner of the stall, and some blood on Cherry's tail.

my heart goes out to you and your mare. We lost a fetus that our mare aborted this year as well. It is very heart breaking. It is real hard on the children.
