Looking for a Standard Jennet in or near lower west Michigan

Some friends of mine lost their jennet yesterday. They have a standard jack that was abused and he is the protector of their beef cattle and he is lonely, he is also starting to push away from humans, I think that he thinks that we hurt his jennet, while we were actually trying to help her. Please PM me if you have a jennet or know of someone with one they do not have a lot of money to spend on one. So if you can help please let me know.

Where exactly are you in Michigan. I am about 30 minutes from the Menominee, Mi.but I live in Wisconsin. I might know of someone who has some standard size jennets for sale.(if he hasnt sold them!) I also know of someone who has 2 geldings and a hinny pony for sale very reasonable. How far do you want to travel for one? Have you tried GOTDONKEYS.com? Ohhh- -just seen your in lower west Michigan, that is quit aways from where I am. Try GOTDONKEYS or just do a google search for donkeys in Michigan for sale and see what you come up with . YUP--that is quit a distance form me. I'm 1 hour north of Green Bay. and 30 minutes west of Menominee, Mi. or about 1 hour from the UP. If I hear of anything down your way I will let you know. Corinne

There are two donkey rescues in Michigan and I think their prices are reasonable. You can find them at Crossroads Donkey Rescue, http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI301.html and Turning Pointe Donkey Rescue,http://www.turningpointedonkeyrescue.com/index.html . There is another rescue, all species, that has a standard jennet right now and I think his prices are quite low. It is Educated Animal Rescue, http://www.educatedanimalrescueandteenhaven.com/ . I seen that at auctions quite low and on many of the horse sale pages. I will keep my eyes open, let us know if they find something.

No luck all the resues will not allow us to adopt because the jennet would be used for breeding. So I am still looking. Thanks for the help! :bgrin
