The Dance

Garth Brooks

Looking back on the memory of

The dance we shared 'neath the stars alone

For a moment all the world was right

How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

And now I'm glad I didn't know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything

For a moment wasn't I a king

But if I'd only known how the king would fall

Hey who's to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I'm glad I didn't know

The way it all would end the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain

But I'd of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance

I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

Still thinking of you, Marty and family. I heard this song this afternoon...haven't heard it in ages and it made me think of you guys!

Oh man, I started tearing up as soon as I saw what song it was. That song has always made me cry!

Thank you for posting that.

I love that song.......it holds so many meanings for us all.........

I just recently printed it up for my journal......before all this happened.

Oh yep, this is one of my very favorite songs and it's funny you posted it, I was just thinking about this song yesterday in light of all that has happened. It truly is a very nice song and holds so many different meanings for so many different people.

I thought of that song when this all first happened. During the death of my late husband, that song gave me so much comfort. I hope it can help Marty.

I heard that song this morning and thought of all that have gone on with Marty and her family. That is one of my favorite songs.

My husband just sent me the lyrics to this song by the Christian group, Mercy Me. It's called Homesick

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times

And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you

But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry

Is how long must I wait to be with you

I close my eyes and I see your face

If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways

The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know

But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same

Cause I'm still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face

If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now

In Christ, there are no goodbye

And in Christ, there is no end

So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have

To see you again

To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face

If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place

Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now
