I'm looking for a simple but good lease agreement. I will be leasing my miniature gelding to a family and would like something down on paper to cover vet, farrier, training if any and just everyday use. Hope one of you will be able to help us out. Thans

EQUINE LEASE AGREEMENT

WITNESSETH: Owner does hereby lease toLessee and Lessee does hereby lease from the Owner the ____________ (color)_______ (sex) known as ________________ (horse's name). The lease shall be fora period of _______ months, beginning the _____ day of
_________, ______. (date)
In exchange for the exclusive use ofthe above-named ___________________
(mare, gelding or stallion) _________________________(horse's name) during the period of this lease, the Lessee does hereby agree toassume all responsibilities and to pay all normal and necessary expenses forthe care of said horse consistent with the practices of good animal husbandry,including but not limited to worming, veterinary expenses, shoeing,trimming, and hauling.
Lessee warrants that he/she hasinspected said horse and agrees to accept said horse in present condition.Lessee shall pay and provide for the transportation of the horse from theLessee to the Owner at the termination of the lease.
Owner shall have the right at any time,in person or by authorized agent, to go upon the Lessee's premises to inspectthe horse and determine if said horse is being properly cared for and in goodhealth. The title and ownership of the leased horse shall be and remain in thename of the Owner. Lessee shall not sell, mortgage, or encumber this leasedhorse in any manner whatsoever. Lessee shall not assign this lease nor subleasethe horse covered hereby.
If the leased horse should at any timebecome missing, lost, seriously injured, sick, or dead, the Lessee shallimmediately notify Owner by telephone and subsequently by mail.
Owner shall not hold Lessee liable forany serious injury or death of the horse arising from events not resulting fromnegligence on the part of the Lessee or the Lessee's agents. Lessee shall holdthe Owner harmless for any injury to persons or damages to any property causedby the leased horse.
No modification of this lease shall bebinding unless in writing and executed by the parties hereto.
The undersigned Owner and Lessee acceptthe terms and conditions of this lease and acknowledge a copy thereof.
