The rain rot and thrush is under control thanks to the great tips I got form hear. And he is starting to gain some weight and muscle tone. I started clicker training. He loves the tennis ball on a stick.

When my show horses come into the barn come late winter, I take a plastic 1 gallon milk carton, put some small stones in it and hang it in the stall. They love to rub up on it, and bang it around. They seem to like the pebble noise in the cartons.

I too use the gallon milk jug but instead of rocks I poke holes in the bottom and put smelly treats in it. I leave the lid off the jug and the horses will knock it around until they bounce the treats out of the jug. I only do this in the winter though because of the flys might get in the jug with their treats.
