Okay I was just curious if any of you have this pain? I never had pain until #3 son Elliot was born (he just turned 7 last week). I was up and riding horses 1 week after delivery - yep I am sure that could have done something

And that pain went away after 6-7 months but then my left hip popped when walking for years and then again this past feb I have been in daily pain/discomfort. I have an appointment this week with the orthopedist but keep thinking it will get better and want to cancel

I have overcompensated and tend to walk weird kind of limpy...

Thanks

Yuppers mine is probably from a combo of Lyme Arthritis and arobics way back when , when the tennies werent the best oh well! My hips/knees give me lots of grief 2 weeks a month, one week so bad that its all I can do just to do the basics. I have found that if I ride at least 3 times a week ( cannot at all for that one really bad week) it really helps. But, getting up to the 3x's ride is painful. I have done the whole Pain Dr round and have been on enough meds to kill a horse, cant do that again , hopefully wont have to. I have lost some weight, and am more normal now. Also I take MSM ( the other gluco/chon stuff did nothing) and that helps. Basically its just listening to my body. Since I cannot work, have no kids, just the horses, its easy for me to be a couch tater when I need to. KUDOS! for being able to survive w/kids, dont know how people w/pain do it, truly dont

Welcome to the club. We should all get together someplace and pool our meds. I will bet we could have one heck of a party !!!! Age really sucks as far as I can tell. I am busy enjoying the life I have because I refuse to spend the rest of my life dying. There are meds that will let you function at a near normal level if you can get a vet (or pain specialist) to prescribe them for you.

Yep I went through about 10 months of horrible pain in my right hip due to a sprained hip muscle. It was horrible. The good news is that I bet you will HEAL up.What do you take for pain? Ultracet was the only drug that helped me and it is non-narcotic.You are in my prayers. It will get better. Ramona

Here too. I have had 3 back surgeries. One was to remove bone chips from the canal that the 3 nerves that go into your hip and leg go down thru. Two were completely ocluded. I still have pain in my hips and sacral area from that and my left leg still gets numb. It could be more from a back/nerve problem than actual hips although you can have arthritis bone on bone in the hip area but you feel it in the femur head which is more in your thigh than your illiac crest area. Good luck....getting old is......well the alternative is worse!

I have been doing accupunture and it helps a bit. What works best is Vicodin and chocolate

I feel bad for you- pain sucks and chronic pain is the worse. I hope you get better soon.

I had alot of hip/very low (almost tailbone area) back pain and occasional sciatica before I got pregnant. I ended up with a couple months of continual sciatica, and when that went away, along came the continual hip, thigh, etc pains!

Haven't suffered any of it (or, oddly, my acid reflux) since I had Nathan- I suppose going from 183 pre-PG weight to 155 one week post-PG helped, but I'm still waiting for it to return.

I'm more active then I was, though- that may be helping too. Instead I've traded in for back & arm/shoulder pain and strain from my little big man. We just can't win

Don't skip that ortho appointment- it may be something that can be fixed easily, and it'll be worth it to reduce the pain. Even if it's not a quick/easy fix, they can probably give you ways to reduce/manage the pain and possibly help keep it from getting worse.
