typos happen, and those of you who don't do any kind of complex computer work, such that requires software that cross-indexes many different items, may not be aware of how one small "mislick"can lead to really bizarre results.
for instance, in my office computer system, I have two vendors, with names that start with the same two letters. one has a vendor ID of 1046, the other a vendor id of 1049. there are about four different ways they can be confused by either touch typing for selecting the wrong line.
they would get really confounded if their checks got coded to the wrong people, as one is in Arkansas, and the other is in Canada.
remember to err is human, to really screw things up requires a computer!
