When you receive your hair genetic report ---- how do you know what it is telling you?

Thanks for any help.

Are you talking DNA such as DNA'ing for AMHA or are you talking about hair tests for color/patterns?

I am talking about when you send in hair for your horse to be dna'd -- and I got back a report that says Genetic Markers and has a chart with LOCUS and TYPE that has letters under each column> Thank you

The genetic marker reports don't mean anything to the lay person. Only the lab that ran the test. It is used to identify and parent qualify horses. So, while you can't make heads or tails of the report, the lab that ran the test can. It stays in their data base and is used to prove or disprove parentage when warranted.
