Gelded my stallion

How long after a 2 year old stallion has been gelded should you wait before putting him in with any mares/fillies? He is more than gentle and oh so friendly, just don't want any babies.

I ask my vet each time one of my horses is gelded, in case "it" lasts longer if they are more mature. Each time he's gelded one of mine, he's told me to wait 30 days.

My vet told me to wait a week. He said the three to four weeks thing was just to cover the entire healing time. In our case though I couldn't put Chinook in for quite a bit longer and then had to supervise because he was determined to kick the daylights out of my mare.
