Here's the scenario....

Foal is born from 2 AMHA registered parents. Sire is 3 yrs old so he is still on Temporary Registration.

Fast forward 5 years, it's now time to bring the foal permanent.

The sire was never brought permanent for what ever reason, and assuming he will never be brought permanent, what happens to the foal's registration?

Thanks,

Karen

As long as the foal was registered before his sire and dam needed to go permanent there won't be any problem.

Thanks for the info.

I thought both parents had to be premanent before bringing a foal permanent.

AMHA horse receive a "temporary" regiatration until they are 5 years old.

When the horse reaches it's 5th birthday, then it can receive a "permanent" registration. The permanent registration shows the horses mature height on the registration certificate

The same thing happens with the AMHR, but the horse can go permanent at 3 yrs old.
