The fair this yr Had such a mix up on the Miniature Horses classes. And some just did not make scenes. So I need a list of 10 classes. That would suite for a small fair.Has to be for open and youth. And another 5 extra list if they are able to do. They can not have too many as the minis and the smae ring as the work horses that day.

Here are a few more: Disciplined Rail (you lead the mini and follow commands like you would in a command class, except you are judged on how well you do instead of being eliminated). This can be a great class for beginners as it can stress good ground manners; a short canter is also fun!

Then pleasure driving, obstacle driving, and disciplined rail driving (same concept as above, except driving).

What about halter??.Just have Stallion and Mare and gelding class. And someone suggested multi color and solid,So that would be 4 classes there. The a open showmanship and a youth. So make it 6 classes So far. Anymore ideas. So far some good ones I tell them about.

I would have a stallion, mare and gelding halter. Then put in liberty, in-hand obstacle, jumping, hunter. Then youth showmanship, youth driving, open driving. That would give you an array of classes. Then instead of splitting up the classes, just drive all of them together (I did that at fair shows).

Here are some I've seen:

  1. halter jr. stallions
  2. halter sr. stallions
  3. halter jr. mares
  4. halter sr. mares
  5. halter jr. geldings
  6. halter sr. geldings
  7. color
  8. showmanship
  9. obstacle in hand
  10. driving
  11. obstacle driving
  12. egg and spoon
  13. musical chairs
  14. carrot race
  15. liberty (may be too long?)
PS I hate it when halter is combined, all sexes and ages in one class.

I agree with what several others have said something like:

1. Jr. Stallions - Open Halter

2. Jr. Mares - Open Halter

3. Jr. Geldings - Open Halter

4. Sr. Stallions - Open Halter

5. Sr. Mares - Open Halter

6. Sr. Geldings - Open Halter

7. Amateur Halter - All Sexes/Ages

8. Youth Halter - Mares & Geldings

9. Open Showmanship

10. Open Halter Obstacle

11. Open Pleasure Driving (Country & Single)

13. Open Hunter

14. Multi-Color

15. Solid Color

If I had to cut it to about 10 i'd probably go with:

1. Open Halter - Jr. Horses

2. Open Halter - Sr. Horses

3. Amateur Halter - All Sexes

4. Youth Halter - Mares & Geldings

5. Open Showmanship

6. Open Halter Obstacle

7. Open Hunter

8. Open Pleasure Driving (Country & Single)

9. Multi-Color

10. Solid Color

Liberty is a great idea too, everyone loves it, if you can pull it off you should but since you said you'd be in the ring with other horses I didn't think it would be possible...
