call me weird but i have a thing about the markings on the donkeys' ears

: . for instance i was out taking "after rain" pictures today and i couldn't really get good ones of Dillon and the girls because they kept getting too close. but i got these cool ear shots...

these are Dillon's, the BROWN jack in my avatar - they are pretty much RED

and these are Betty Lou, one of my GREY jennets - they are tan and dark brown

i find it fascinating that their ears are such different colors than their bodies.

I never really noticed the different colours & markings on mine till I saw pics of

other peoples donkeys....& if one resembled mine, then the ears would be wrong.

Lots of grey jennies out there but they all have different ears....don't they?

I think it is their most distinctive feature anyways
