I registered a colt AMHR and it took longer for the DNA tests for the AMHA, in the meantime I completely forgot I already had the AMHR papers and decided to drop a word out of the name when I finished the AMHA papers, so they are one name off. Will this matter since they are separate registries? Thanks alot. Lori

No it won't matter at all. I know a mini who is registered with both registries and has 2 totally different registration names.

It's always nice to have them be the same name, but having ALMOST the same name is okay........The main reason is for people who are researching your horse's pedigree at some point.

It is entirely up to the person registering. You can use the same name (if it's available through both registries) or two totally different names.

I have one filly now with two different names, but they are similar. Because someone owns the suffix "Treasure" with AMHR... Fantasy Corrals Secret Treasure / Fantasy Corrals Secret Treasure Too.
