Conditioning on a treadmill?

I was wondering if those that use a treadmill can tell me how they use it, where they got it and how well does this work for them as I am considering getting one for myself (like that's gonna happened - I really meant I want to get one for conditioning my minis!

Its not something I would wast my money on. If used to much and wrong they can ruin a horses stride. They also go sour on it very fast.
