Unfortunately, mane and tail length and thickness is governed by genetics, and then environmental issues on top of that.

It's possible that no matter how much MTG you put on or prevent her from rubbing it out, it just won't get long.

As to the donkey look... Once you roach it, it will look like that for a long time until its long enough to lie back over again.

Well its not ever going to get long enough to lay over, so I am just going to figure out a way to make it look nice short.

Ive been trimming it up and am pretty pleased right now with the way it looks. Its short, neat and thinned out. I like it. Its roached looking but thinner, still needs work, but well on its way to looking nice.

I can live and like it short.
