Here he is before the clip (my clips aren't that great yet!!)

I, myself, believe he is a bay roan because he has some bay on his muzzle and mane!! His tail has black, white, bay, blue.. it looks like a splash of everything.

Sorry this pics are so big!!! Just wanted to share.. I think he is the prettiest color. He isn't registered, previous owner didn't know which stud got to the mare.

Actually, he looks to be more of a blue(black) roan to me. What a difference a haircut can make, huh?!

He is still a bay roan. What I think you have is, you have just removed the winter coat and his true summer coat isn't in yet. Give it time, and I think it will color up.

added: I just looked at his winter picture again and noticed that he has a lot of roaning in his coat. He might not get a lot of bay color back in.
