What are the rules and guidelines for using bell boots in roadster?

-Do you have to wear them even if your horse doesn't need them? Or is it just a "look"?

-What color do you pick? Should it match your silks? or your horses color?

** I didn't realize it was registry specific, rules for both would be good if I ever do a A/R show.

What registry are you showing? You have to follow the rules for each registry.

Some people match their silks, but I prefer white.

In AMHR, you can even braid ribbons into mane and forelock to match your silks.
 
I dont think they are allowed in AMHA, but would have to check with someone who shows A more than we do for sure. For R most people use white but have seen some colored to match silks. They are supposed to be a safety precaution in case a horse over reaches and clips themselves while getting the longer stride but are optional in R.
 
l believe this is the first year for AMHA that roadster horses are allowed to wear bell boots...l'm pretty sure l read that not long ago in one of the AMHAs enews updates...l don't think we would use them as none of our roadster minis require them for protection.
