You need the "allan wrench" to adjust the screw so the blades touch.

We were told they are set apart for shipping.

After 25 or so trims the screw needs to be tightened again.

I also received the extra blades but have not had to use them yet.

I can do twice as many horses at one time, than with my regular nippers.

Much easier on old, arthritic, and small hands.

They take a little getting used to but I have NEVER returned to my old nippers.

I have always had more difficulty with the front hoof on the left side, when looking at the front of the horse, but with the barrracuda nippers every hoof is "handy" for me.

I have two horses with hooves that are extremely "hard" to cut thru, but these nippers make them all easy.

I love them!

Hello, For the person interested in the Bud Nippers. I bought mine a few years ago so they might have different sizes now, but mine are large and heavy. I love how they cut but it took some time to get used to the size and weight. They cut through the hoof like it is not even there. They are too big to use on yearlings and horses with real small hoofs (unless they make smaller models now). I don't mean this to be negative because I love mine, just thought you should know ahead of time. Vicki

I still need to order a pair of these and try them out for myself

You'll be much happier with the GE 14" race track nippers.
