AMHA. In amateur i understand you need a card/number. If you were planning on showing a couple times a year would it be in your best interest to show in Amateur or open? Not in it for points right now, just testing the waters. Do the pros fit into the open classes?

It's mostly pros in the open classes. Some DIYers and ammys. I think the cost of the ammy card is worth it, myself....

I think it is worth it especially if you dont feel comfortable yet going up against the trainers. I personally show both Ammy and Open but if just wanting to test the waters and getting into it slowly starting in Ammy is a good move. You will still have ammys that have been showing a long time and are just as competitive as trainers but just less than in the open division.

Thanks for the advice. I think i will go Ammy this time out and see what i have learned.
