It's about time states started growing nads!

Just heard that Alabama's new immigration law requires schools to check peoples immigration status BEFORE allowing them to enroll !!!!

YAHOOOOOOO - it's about time we stopped paying for people in OUR country illegally to get an education paid for BY US. Health care paid for BY US. In state college tuition paid for BY US etc etc etc.

I'm disgusted how OUR Federal government find it okay to take OUR earnings as taxes and give it away to illegal immigrants while we have US citizens and legally admitted immigrants going without so much. I'm not into giving people hand outs but there are American's NEEDING hand outs at the moment, because they've fallen on hard times, that they're not getting because of everything we give away to people who shouldn't even be here.

You are so right! I have a dear friend that has brain cancer. has seizures, lost her job, her insurance, if it wasn't for her husband she would be homeless. She can't get a lick of help because hubby makes too much money. Medical bills are killing them, thank goodness her kids are grown. They may have to declare bankruptcy just because of the co pays. So sad

Good for Alabama! But I wonder how long it will take for the federal government to challenge this, just like they are challenging Arizona's laws on checking documentation on people picked up while committing a crime or misdemeanor.

I have always wondered why when the wonderful Government can track a cow down to the very stall it was born in several years ago, which farm/barn etc. it has lived in since leaving the farm it was born at. Find out what cows it was pastured with, its breeding records etc.. why cant they do the same for the illegal immigrants??? Makes me even wonder if they care or even want to...

We're a nation based on laws and immigration. Everyone of us, unless we're Native American, has family who came here from somewhere else. I came directly from England 35 years ago. It took us years to go through the immigration process before we came. In my wildest dreams I wouldn't have come here illegally. I'm not a criminal. It doesn't matter how you cut it - ANYONE coming here ILLEGALLY IS committing a crime. They are taking jobs (which are scarce these days) from Americans, they are pushing our health care costs sky high having to cover their free care, they are filling our prisons, filling our classrooms at OUR expense and on and on and on.

It's time our government defended our borders they way we are so willing to defend other countries.

The other rule we have to change is this nonsense that if a foreign national woman gives birth here the baby is a citizen. You know how many women in late term pregnancy are coming here to do just that !!!! And then if your baby is a citizen you get automatic immigration preference and the mother, father and siblings get to come...and once they are here the grandparents etc get to come.

Oh dear...I got back on my box didn't I? lol.

Reading that literally makes me feel sick to my stomach.

The only thing that upsets me even more - is that a HUGE number of Americans aren't feeling the same way. I came from a very socialist nation (England) - with nationalized health care that left my grandmother on a gurney in a hospital hallway for an entire week (until she literally died there) because there were no spare rooms...not one doctor even came to see her. I wish we could pass a law requiring every American to go live abroad for a year before being allowed to vote...because I'm yet to meet an American who really REALLY appreciates when they have in this unbelievably incredible country enough to protect her from the assault she's facing every single day (well maybe there's one of two on this message board

) I do think I ( and other immigrants) have a unique perspective because we've lived in other countries. We're spoiled here. We don't even know what it is to go to a grocery store and only have one choice of an item. From someone who has lived somewhere else (and my family was very, very wealthy - so we didn't suffer financially) and has traveled extensively - the USA IS THE greatest nation on the face of the planet. I sure wish more Americans appreciated that

There's still so much apathy and a laziness when it comes to being informed. Plus, the MSM is so hugely biased (liberal left).

Miniwhinny, I bet you saw the likihood of what we're seeing now back in 2008. I know I did, but I am surprised at the speed some really bad things have unfolded. Hope and change? Well, what the heck is better now than it was in 2008? And what's worse?
