1980's movie title

I am having a total brain freeze here, but then it was a long time ago. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid. It was about some kids that found some kind of time warp creating thing at a military facility. They bring it back to their high school and it creates all these different "dimensions" or times in various rooms through the school. They have to try to get through the school to the machine and get it destroyed/shut off or something like that. Does anyone remember the name of the movie? Sorry, I can't even give any of the actors or actresses that were in it.
