    April Showers Bring May Flowers

Thank you for sharing, love the flowers. I lost my Ragdoll, Hannah, last year. I miss her quirky little personality. I would love to get another Ragdoll but my 2 Siamese would run a kitten out of the house

    how to feed

If you have a means to weigh their feed, that would be best. Not all flakes of hay weigh the same, not all cups of feed weigh the same. Horse in general need 1.5-2.5% of their bodyweight in feed per day, so a 300# mini would need an average of 6# of feed per day, most of which should be hay I...

Look what showed up in my barn just after midnight!

Congrats Lori, she is beautiful. She reminds me of my mare's first foal. Does she have blue eyes? I wish the filly fairy would visit my barn

My Silhouette crossed the rainbow bridge

I'm sorry for the loss of your mare and foal. How brave of you to make the decision to let her go and put her out of her suffering even though it's dreadful for you. Lisa

    FINALLY...

What a great story! Your new colt is very handsome. Does he have a name yet? After everyone else is done with the foaling fairy, please send her our way. Today is 357 for Moon. Tomorrow is her 6th birthday, so that would be a sweet present for momma. Lisa

Help! Cooper got into the feed room!

So happy to hear Cooper is feeling better That post made me go out and buy a new grain can. The one I had been using somehow ended up with a lid that did not go with it so it was just sitting on top of the can. Not that you were not on top of it, but it made me think about my own little...

    getting ready

I just took the farm tour of your place. So peaceful looking. I loved the pics of the family building the barn. I'm a flight attendant, so I've landed in almost every state in the country and I must say, Tennesee is one of the only states I was really impressed with. I'm originally from...

    Dwarf perlino filly

Awwww she is adorable. I don't know anything about dwarfs, I'm sure they have their own challenges with their health and care. It's going to take a special home. If I had lots of land, I'd have a herd of minis and big girl horses just for my own pleasure, unfortunately, I board mine, so I'm no...

    Foal number 5.....

What a beautiful filly :-) I love that your husband named her Sadie. It fits her. I would not have the heart to change the name of a horse my husband put that much thought into, especially if he just announced that her name WAS Sadie! Lisa

    Question to breeders about gestation

Again, thank you for all of the input. I was able to feel lots and lots of kicking and rolling of the foal today. Last night I discovered the swollen bump in front of the udder that I have read described as "milk veins" on this forum. There is milk but not a huge bag. I'm at least positive...
