My farrier recommends bleach for thrush. You have to hold up the hoof and pour it in, then let it sit for a little bit, put the hoof down. We treat once a day until cleared up. Inexpensive and does the job.

I have a black and white pinto with extensive lacing across her back. She is two years old now but I bought her at a year and three months old. Her lacing pattern has not changed with time. I suspect she was born with it but I can't say for sure.
