    Driving Conformation

I'm looking to learn more about driving conformation, specifically in terms of miniature horses. Most sites I can find that detail 'proper' conformation are geared toward riding: hunters, jumpers, cutting, etc. I haven't had much luck finding out what makes ideal conformation for a...

How Did You Name Your Farm/Breeding Program?

I was just wondering how people named their farms/breeding programs? A lot of the names are very cute, catchy, or just really nice and I was wondering how they were inspired.

    Show off your Duns!

One of my favorite colors is dun so...I'd love to see any 'true dun' Minis! I know they exist, but I don't think I've really seen too many of them.

    Artificial Insemination

I was wondering how common AI (Artificial Insemination) is in Miniatures? I have only very rarely seen it offered on websites. Most seem to be live-cover? I know that AI is very, very common in the big breeds. How come it seems so much less common in Minis? Do they have complications with it?

    Adult Height?

I was just wondering, how do you predict Mininature adult height? I know no method is 100%, but I've heard/seen a lot of people using the "string test" in big horses. Does that work in Minis too? Or is there some other way you can get at least a rough guess?

    Butterfly Bit?

I don't know much about driving and I assume that Butterfly Bits are fairly common in driving, so I'm very unfamiliar with them. What exactly is a Butterfly Bit? Is it a leverage bit? How is it different from other bits?

    Fun Horse Color 'Toy'

I saw this posted on another forum and thought I would share. http://www.jenniferhoffman.net/horse/equinegenetics.html It is very neat and a lot of fun to play with. I don't know if it's 100% accurate, but it is certainly neat to play around on.

    AMHA/AMHR/ASPC?

I've seen some people saying their horses are AMHA/AMHR/ASPC-registered. As I'm understanding it, that means they are registered with the American Miniature Horse Association, the American Miniature Horse Registry, and the American Shetland Pony Club, correct? Can someone explain to me how a...

    Good Books About Miniatures

I am looking to expand my "Horsey Library" to learn more about miniatures. Can anyone recommend good books about Miniatures? Any topic is welcome: color genetics (love them), breeding, feeding, training, driving, showing, etc. I love nothing so much as a good book and if its about horses, all...

    When to start driving training?

I was wondering what is a good/safe age to start training a pony or miniature for driving? I have always been told you can lightly drive big horses before riding them as if you do it carefully it doesn't cause undue stress on their joints and legs. I was wondering if it was the same for ponies...
