what kind of stable flooring shoud i use

I know this may sound stupid but I have been building a new stable for my mini I am getting. I need to know what kind of flooring shoud i use.. My wife is a little jelous because she says I did a better job on this than i did on my own home..lol And please forgive my bad spelling..also I am thinking of insulating the stable should I do this..

We insulated our barn with the spray on foam. Really made a difference. Every few years white wash it.

Kills alot of bugs. Brightens it up.

We have sand, than dirt, peat moss, than wood pellets, so easy to clean. Helps draining.

Now when they foal we only use straw, no hay or shaving or pellets, not good for the babies.

The two barns we've had over the years have had a dirt base floor with a layer of sand and gravel for drainage. Then, on top of that, we put rubber matts. The rubber matts save a lot of headaches with cleanup and they provide a soft footing for the horses.
