Is anyone familiar with compact hay balers??

Currently we buy hay. But we would really like to be more self reliant for hay supply… if we can.

We have a few acres and a smaller size tractor. It cannot handle a “regular” hay baler.

But we have found this compact hay baler that sounds perfect.

It can create square bales from only 20 lbs – 70 lbs.

Gosh, the whole idea of smaller square bales sounds great to me. So much easier to handle. (And with mini horses…. What could be better???

Anyone know anything about them??

What are your thoughts??

Thanks,

Becky

I bought a lot of compressed alfalfa hay out of Michigan for the winter.

They weigh 200+ pounds. Not easy to manuever. They take up half the space.

We personally dont have one but some people down the road do and their bales are always so small -- they look VERY easy to manage. We bale most of our own hay and I am trying to convince my husband to get one of these little balers so that the bales would be more managable for me but so far he says no -- haha

Good luck if you get one.
