James and I are planning a get away to the Smoky Mountains and we love the Maggie Valley, North Carolina area. There are loads of cabins/homes on the internet; it's almost mind boggling. I get tired of looking; so I thought I would come to you, my LB forum world travelers and ask if any of you have been to this area and enjoyed a particular cabin/vacation home. We don't want just a regular hotel room. We would love to have a hot tub and king size bed. We are very flexible on our days to travel. Fall foliage is a very popular time of year to visit this area so I may be too late to get what I want but I'm flexible.

Thanks for any help or referrals you can offer. We've been a couple times before but it's been years. (the first was our honeymoon about 21 years ago and we went back one other time probably 15 yrs ago).

We will be flying from Houston to Atlanta, GA and renting a car and driving the 3 hour drive to Maggie Valley.

Hey and if there are any lb members that live near that area please let me know and maybe we can come out and say hello!

thanks again!

. I stayed in a "cabin" on the mountainside with a beautiful view. Don't know if that cabin is still being rented though. I used carolinavacations.com/ to book the cabin and they have a lot and you can do an advance search requesting pet friendly, pool, hot tub, cable, type of view and type of slope. Be careful that you don't get one with a driveway that is too sloping as I had a heck of a time going up a steep gravel driveway. And you only about 7 miles from Cherokee and Harrah's Casino and lots of little shops in Cherokee, NC. Blueridge Parkway is close to, just a neat place to visit.
